Just as importantly, CER has not indicated to date that it intends to change the constitution. As CNP owns over 50% of CER directly and indirectly, it could at any time announce that it will be amending the constitution and vote in favour of the change at the EGM.
There would be a backlash if that occurred but they would be within their rights.
If they didnt pay out the taxable income and the constitution remained status quo, there would be an even bigger backlash and it would be a breach of the constitution.
Further negative publicity is something Im sure the company could do without.
Anyway lets see what the next month brings.
