it’s about significant cost saving and risk-control, a full access to the hardware and it’s embed programs, this will simplify and ensure a more comprehensive QA process.
during the firmware updates on 5th Jan, Tyro didn’t have a full access to the worldline software, they will have to reach out worldline to discuss a solution, which taken around a week. If it’s tyro developed dongle, it would be easily tracing back and solving the problem straightly.
the outage can be a positive thing pushing tyro toward more alternatives rather than always relying on the other parties. It might end up a revolution - who knows
