On Costco influence - I think they are having trouble finding the right size properties on which to build their stores, mostly in industrial/airport complexes which limits their attractiveness.
Sure they are cheap but you may have to drive 40 mins across town to find one - for most households they might do this for some purchases, but day to day shopping is still going to be at the majors.
I think Coles can show growth even though they are starting from a low base - most regular Coles shoppers are going to be more appreciative and they can attract some WOW customers across.
