They have more than just disolved into merger, they have also dropped about 58m shorts in actual terms.
At the peak on 4 Feb 2021 (pre merger) they had 85,892,743 shorts / 740,962,173 shares
as at 15 February 2021 (post merger) they had 27,635,570 shorts / 1,163,442,519 shares
