The easiest way to recognise a FAD is ask yourself the question if the product the FAD was trying to replace came along after the FAD product would the FAD succeed.
in other words if a consumer was using Quadpay and paying a $4 per average $100 transaction fee equating to annualised interest of 50%,with 25% deposit and the balance to be paid in full in six weeks, if a credit card came along and offered six to eight weeks interest free and only 20% on outstanding balance would this replace the FAD product ?
