Hi Mak.
You might wish to review that statement , population growth[ in nominal terms] , not population is likely to peak in 30 to 50 years.
So, in 30 years we will be lucky to avoid another 2 billion people.

At present , we are overpopulated, on an unsustainable trajectory with regard to resource utilization.
And that is with a large percentage of the population not using that much, and likely to be looking to live the sort of lives that they see others have.
