ECS has clinched an exclusive agency deal with Sensible Seeds.
Sensible Seeds is the world’s largest online seed retailer.
In its interim report posted after the close of trade ECS notes that Sensible Seeds "stocks nearly 3,000 quality cannabis seed strains sourced from more than 160 of the best cannabis seed banks and breeders from around the world."
A check of the Sensible Seeds website reveals the group is embracing Bitcoin. It's offering a 25% discount on purchases paid with the digital currency.
ECS CEO Alex Keach has nothing to say about Bitcoin in today's report but if the group wants to pioneer acceptance of Bitcoin in the local hemp and medicinal cannabis industry, he knows who to consult.
Meanwhile Keach signals that the ANZ agency deal with Sensible Seeds will allow ECS to leverage its import expertise with a renowned supplier to provide itself and the Australian market with quality genetics.

ECS has developed a new soup variety in conjunction with Flavour Makers.
This has been accepted by Woolworths with manufacturing commencing in February 2021.
The Company also developed a hemp seed oil capsule (with turmeric), which will feature alongside its existing hemp seed oil capsules. These capsules will be produced specifically for online sales.
Finally, Alex Keach appears to be targetting the large Australian pet industry.
The industry is beginning to increase its demand for hemp, ECS says. "...as a result ECS saw increased demand for its hemp seed oil and seconds – by-products from the processing and manufacturing of hemp seed oil and hearts."
Release of today's interim report marks a doubling in the number of ASX announcements made by ECS in the first two months of FY/H2.
There'll be more news next week when the group confirms acquisition of Murray Meds/Flowerdale Farms and the appointment of its first female director, Nan-Maree Schoeri.
It's clear that ECS is cranking operations on many fronts as it moves to build Australia's premier cannabis/hemp hub. This is good.
