Another positive article pointing out the economic problems created by the closure of the mine, lack of evidence around the environmental impacts and ulterior motives of the protestors around land speculation. They asked an unnamed representative of Akara about the speculation of the mine being reopened mid 2021, they responded "Right now I don't want to say too much but there's signs the international arbitration is going well" There's also a suggestion we applied for mining lease and the additional 580k rai of SPLAs in December 2020. The discussion of the mine reopening mid-late this year, lines up roughly with how long it would take to ramp up production assuming we're able to settle in the coming months.
Oh yeah it looks like Chevron is commencing an arbitration against them too.
