Well, that may well be a factor, but it has been clear to me for a while that the price range has been managed while someone scoops up mid to low 30's. Today's spike is a clear example, $100k was grabbed at 33/33.5 and then nipped back pronto to 32.
So clearly someone is buying on market without wanting to cause too much of a drop, and not initiating a stampede of buys either.
