My understanding is what they are talking about with these mega solar farms is akin to building computer mainframes whereas Dyesol is more into making laptops. Personally I can't see how DYE will benefit from the budget.
Didn't an IBM bloke say at the beginning of the computer age that the world would only need a couple of computers?
IMO this push for the grand solar statement is merely as a complement to their ongoing emphasis on coal fired power. My understanding is that what is being proposed with these mega solar farms would not provide base-load power so we would still need to rely on coal fired power plants. Geothermal and solar thermal would provide base-load power but as they are more of a direct threat to coal neither got much of a look in. :(
