I've been a forensic follower of FMG since 2003. Even today, only 2.5% of its shares are held by Australian institutions, and one senior researcher at a large retail brokerage is still scathing about the company.
This is a perpetual mystery to me, as the company has virtually been a money tree for its followers.
The good thing about this is that, - with all the skeptics still out there, - they are a flock of potential buyers who may well have to swallow their pride and bid up eventually. The skeptics are looking more and more isolated by the day.
We need to remember that some very big smart institutions have shown themselves to be spectacularly dumb in recent times, so why should their skepticism of FMG be treated any differently?
