There are always sellers. Someone might have daytraded today ... bought 30k at $1.06 & havppy to dump it into the final auction for his profit.
If you are a Comsec client you can buy $25k worth of shares without having the cash as long as you sell them the same day.
So he dumps them into the final auction. This is an auction that mathematically weights the sellers & buyers in the last 10 minutes and gives a final "weighted average" price at the end.
He might have put it in low ... but he always knew it would selll for a higher average price in the end.
