    I agree, what can be considered “best practices “ for the cultivation of sugar cane or any other crops doesn’t diminish the possibilities that it is 100% sound practices.

    I’m sure that those farming cane have greatly improved their management over time to lessen their impacts on the environment downstream as other producers have as well.

    Appreciating the balance of what we do to produce compared to the potential disruptions outside of the product is difficult to understand.

    I believe/hope we are more aware today of the implications than we were 50-100 years ago and that our understanding of the cause&effect increases in the future.
    We shouldn’t think we know everything today but we should realise that it is important to build a better understanding so we can lessen the negative impacts going forward.
