Magnetics measure .... ferromagnetic bodies. We won't know what they consist of exactly until assays and perhaps visual inspection of cores.
But the presence of large ferromagnetic bodies is a necessary condition for the presence of large nickel sulphide deposits which may or may not contain economic quantities of minerals. So one box has been ticked. Now these blobs need to be tested.
