It is the national carrier. It is an iconic national brand. You show the plane anywhere in the world and everyone knows it is Australian. The kangaroo is unique.
It is majority owned by Australia and their is no government ownership (unlike Singapore Airlines).
And as someone said keep politics and cheerleading out, it has no place here.
