    yes they will use other materials for cheaper cars with less performance. This is known. Nickel is needed for energy density there are many other substitutes they just arnt as good. less range and less power.
    This does nothing to the demand of Nickel. This is what they are using for the model 3 in China if my memory serves me right. Iron Phosphate lithium batteries..
