(a) the unwillingness of Germans to have children and therefore unlikeliness of advancing Germany's industriousness and providing great social provisions for the next generation - and believe me I have met migrants, black of face but with all the German characteristics, ie. accent, industriousness, which is almost comical, but puts some native sons/daughters to shame. Industriousness, efficiency is catching.
(b) her sheer humanity, caused by an upbringing in a pious household - and in frugal Communist East Germany.
Russia: to me the rapprochement with Russia is a natural outcome of proximity - these two peoples (and I am not necessarily talking about the present leadership in Russia) have come closer. There is a huge movement of people going on in Europe - which included England for a while - I remember being at an Airport 2 years ago, returning to England from Vienna in early January, had to change flights in Amsterdam and was astonished at the throng of Eastern European young people streaming into England (workers all), equally astonished a the queue travelling back to Russia. I knew about the Poles, but I didn't know young Russians also travelled the world.
Humans have become mobile - that is a fact - and basically we are all made of the same stuff and -
we will all have to cope with a heating world which will cause more migration from places which will become uninhabitable. It won't be easy, but the sooner we chip in together and face up to the challenges of this century, the easier it is going to be on our children and grandchildren. go well Taurisk
