I understand that, but what’s stopping the Chinese students who are now back in China, from becoming middlemen and contacting people in Australia to purchase on their behalf.
I can’t see any logical reason why they can’t continue acting as Daigou from China and get their products sent to them from people living in Australia, whether those people in Australia are Chinese or not.
Take for example me, I used to fill my suitcase with items from Costco when I went on trips to the USA. Now I can’t fly to the USA, so a friend who lives there, buys me what I want and posts it to me. (Products I can’t get in NZ).
