From John Chapter 20 After the crucifixion, when Thomas identifies Jesus. Thomas called Jesus my God (my Lord and my God). That much is clear. Jesus's immediate response was:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Because you have seen me - seen me as what? What had Thomas just called Jesus? He had just called Jesus my God. And believed what? Again, what had Thomas just called Jesus? He had just called Jesus my God. What about those who had not seen Jesus who did not see Jesus as Thomas had seen him?
It is pretty obvious that Thomas recognised Jesus as God which was confirmed by Jesus.
From John Chapter 14 The verses that you mention are a conversation that Jesus has with Thomas and Philip about the nature of God. Essentially that Jesus is the way to the Father and that the nature of Jesus is so close to that of the Father that they could see the Father in Jesus. I'm guessing that this is your point that you are making about Thomas's comment - that Thomas recognised God in Jesus.
That's a fair enough conclusion. The fact that Jesus didn't mention that when Thomas called Jesus God rather spoils your connection somewhat, and leads some to believe that the connection is not there. In the Chapter 20 narrative, Jesus did not refer to the conversion in Chapter 14 which may have helped clarify the issue.
