Labor climate change and energy spokesman Chris Bowen said new climate action policy is needed to transition the economy. “We can either stand by and watch our exporters and manufacturers feel that brunt – or we can jump on board and grow these industries and our economy.”
The draft platform said Labor would support new gas extraction and power projects, in line with the Morrison government policy. Mr Bowen said gas power will remain critical to support growth in renewable energy.
