Outcropping Gold System Identified - January 2021

Whenever a company claims to have found a new system where previous exploration has already been carried out I am always interested why the previous exploration was not continued. RML have made it clear that 3 historic drill holes already tested this ground, AGGP-1, AGGP-2, AGGP-3.

I managed to dig out some info on these and found that Anglogold explored this area.... back in 2002/2003!

I was able to dig out an 18 year old mining newsletter discussing the results (see below). Gold was trading below AUD$600 per ounce back then!




RML have told us that the three holes were selectively sampled by Anglogold and the following diagram shows that actually, the majority of the drill core was not sampled back in 2002:



So the previous exploration was done in a time when higher grades were probably required for a discovery to be economically attractive to warrant further drilling. RML have also indicated that the selective samples were based on vein density and alteration yet some of RMLs recent cutting samples exceeding the 1 g/t cutoff did not show any veining or alteration.

I'm also starting to gain an understanding of the Fort Knox mine which is what this prospect is being compared to... can anyone tell me the significance of Fort Knox waste rock not producing acid mine drainage? Is this what makes the mining economical for such low grades?
