I can afford not to worry about discounting but it's still in my wifes nature. With kids, she buys bulk baked beans and bulk meat to the freezer etc etc just because doesn't like paying too much. Most families with kids have large groccery billls and especially in the mrotgage belt and mum unemployed they will flock to the "Bunnings of supermarkets" like flies to honey. Whether it is Aldi, Costco or whoever counting your pennies is the new black I recon.
