The reason for the recent price action is as follows.
Sarepta failed their DMD treatment very recently usa. Exondy 51 was their previous treatment passed as a DMD treatment in a peculiar scenario the fda allowed exondy 51 to go to market and gave them a 4 year windrow to produce supporting data. They didn't. So when the recent failure happened the fda also said hey we want that supporting data aswell.
When sarepta got exondy 51 approved they went from ~60mil MC to ~10 billion usd. USA has 20,000 dmd sufferers with trestment costing 400,000usd per treatment and Europe 26,000 sufferers. Understandable as to why the MC exploded.
Roche paid over 1 billion upfront to sarepta for lic of their new treatment pre fda approval. With subsequent renumeration after approval.
After the failure this left ANP as pretty much the last hope for trestment for DMD sufferers. Subsequently and coincidently 2 broker reports came out at almost the exact same time saying that anp is super under valued.
EMA told anp that if you can replicate 2a result in your 2b trial we will allow you too commercialise your treatment without a P3 trial
The 2a results for ATL1102 were incredible. First to ever slow down muscle degeneration.
All of a sudden massive lime light was shon on ANP people started doing the maths and the number of what this company could become over night.
People were right in thinking Roche may pay anp the same sort of money for their treatment. Especially considering 2 ex sarepta board members sit on the ANP board.
It rocketed up based on that and formed a new base.
