Some investors are reacting to news of Iron replacing Nickel ? Chemistry does not support that
Here is why ?.
1) Nickel is a transition metal, is main component of Li ion battery. Nickel provide the variable electron valance (3d) that forms the high battery voltage potential between anode and cathode.2) Nickel impact intercalation structure for cathode where Li ion is stored.3. Comparing to other transition metal an intercalation lattice for cathode, high nickel impose high energy capacity per mole.
