Agreed. Dou's BNPL feature does not seem at all like APT's model, even less like an actual credit product. Which is funny because they explicitly state that they think it IS a credit product.
I'm big fans of their rhetoric and general thinking about finance and credit. Whether consumers will agree will remain to be seen.
APT's popularity is entirely due to it enabling people to live outside their means. That's the trick to winning in the credit game and my only real concern with DOU- whether people are ready to be economically rational.
