There has been a bit of chatter on Canada's Stockhouse forum this weekend over an environmental report issued on Friday regarding the Tailings management for the Bloom Lake expansion.
Headline sounds dramatic, but it means that CIA may have to come up with an alternative plan for tailings storage capacity. BAPE suggests storing tailings in the mining pit rather than back-filling small lakes & wetlands in the vicinity of the mine. CIA has previously opposed this idea as it prevents further exploitation of the ore body under the mining pit.
It's a 205 page report to advise the Quebec Govt - CIA management to respond in due course.
