This will change. Batteries are more commonly being installed in homes and businesses, and those sites become net contributors to the grid, or even independent of the grid.

Someone commented that it would require 450 times the footprint of a power station to provide the same energy as a power station. But under a distributed model, the roof is already there., doing double duty. No extra space is required.

Yes! And the big opportunity is what distributed batteries can do to support grid stability when orchestrated as a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).
