Would you have a link for that bdell. Tesla's new 4680 cell is 6 times more powerful than their 2070 cells but the main reason is that it has 6 times the volume, not because of any chemistry improvement. They are incrementally reducing the % of cobalt in their cells too but cobalt is still one of the ingredients that is still required for high energy density and long service life in a Lithium battery. Tesla is using LFP (no cobalt) chemistry in its MIC M3 SR+. Those batteries have lower energy density, shorter service life and cost less than Tesla's NMC batteries used in their more expensive models.
