it only takes 1 event to create a costly repair. many examples around the world of such an occurance. coal power plants have built in redundancy and Equipment are repaired often, you have reliablilty and now lowered costs of consumables. Renewables however, have diminishing efficiency and require full replacement if the weather event occurs. relying on renewables is like playing pokies, out of the many mundane spins you get the random jackpot and huge $$$$ payout.
