I was just reading @vass44 comments below and I have to agree that perhaps the reason he didn't stick around was because he knows how busy this year is going to be and perhaps he knew his health was not in a good enough state for the demands of the role going forward. I personally know a number of people who have done something similar after their workplaces went through a momentous growth phase. And I might add that these people I knew were older too. So it's not uncommon I feel for executives to leave in a similar situation.

take A2 milks former CEO Jayne Hrdlicka who left for what I feel as though was a similar reason to LDN. So I really think it's not that he didn't want to bask in the glory, but that he no longer has the physical or mental capacity to endure this.

in any case I wish LDN the best for his future, health retirement and family! Much deserved after all the hard work he has done
