I think the worry for RBA is a major bank, CBA have said they are stepping into the bnpl ring. And banks are heavily regulated. If the banks all jump into bnpl then I can't see the RBA has any choice but to regulate and potential to stop bnpl from putting restrictions in their contracts that merchants can't pass on surcharges.
I'm not seeing a lot of complaints by merchants on the additional fees. To sell something on Amazon a merchant pays 15-20 percent. So 7 percent seems small change. But if regulation came in that meant merchants would pass on the 7 percent fee this would obviously benefit merchants with higher revenues but also may mean consumers don't go ahead with the purchase. Adding 7 percent to the bill pyscologically would cause very high shopping cart drop out rates imho.

stefan saying go to hummm no I'm out of bnpl stock for now. There is so much volatility and macro economics uncertainty. When that clears up I might jump back in. Instead I'm invested in red bubble that grew 93 percent year on year is profitable and did 400+ million for the last half in revenue operating one of the ASX largest marketplaces, it's like a mini Etsy.

If I can find companies doing comparable 90+ % growth apt did less than that and have their ebitda increase by 5000% that's a more sure bet for me...

The volatility in zip is a real killer. I mean it was 6 then spikedto 11 then dropped to 5 then up to 14. These huge runs but then just as quickly it plummets, so it's feeling like the whole share price is being manipulated and there is no credibility to a higher share price.
My guess without news this is heading to 6-7, it's heading to where it was before the talk about a dual listing and us investor minus a hefty discount for commotion that AFR article has caused in a loss of investor trust imho. Low 6s.
