Actually you raise and interesting point - Australia only has around 2.5% of the worlds gas natural resources(equivalent to one years worth of world consumption), and most of this is in WA (and is being shipped o/s faster than they can drill it).

Gas is the fuel of choice for domestic supply in Europe, which is why the unit has been set up this way, but it can function on a number of fuel types (including hydrogen in the future).
