Hotcopper posters are living in the past. Gearing was 45% as at 31 December, 2008.
As previously noted and too which most punters on this forum seem to ignore is that a couple of weeks ago the largest property owner in the UK wrote its investments down by 35%. GMG as at 31 December 2008 only wrote them down by 10% too which at that time they were the subject of ridicule.
Property is trending downwards despite what Roger Rogerson states. The UK is having a downgrade in credit rating for government debt. They have forecast a negative growth rate of 4.5%.
These and many other factors seem to be constantly ignored on this forum
