Even if all the $AUD1.5bn was spent on 1 plant, it would only build 180MW at best practice Capex levels. OK, say the states kick in $ for $. And a retailer $ for $. And they find a way to get another $1.5bn from Treasury.
It would still only build 720MW. Say its geared @100% of equity. 1440MW. Hey, that's the same size as the Yallourn Brown Coal asset in Victoria. But we have now spent $12bn.
I have been unable to find out what the money will be spent on.

While I have never heard of the wiz plant, the green space is littered with an abundance of announcements and scarcity of electrons.
Not sure why the indicated pilot isn't running, there are several pilot dish concentrators (including our very own NT CSIRO plant).
Problem seems to be operating cost with other pilots, tho I don't have much specific knowledge they seem to be more prone to dust and dimming than the trough concentrators.
Also, a parasitic load to swing the (large) dishes.
My comment as before - WBP Is $AUD8m per Mw - not enough $ to achieve anything significant.
