Yes, there can be an oversubscription (or under), but there is no guarantee what will be amount of shares you get if there is an over subscription. You may end up with a lot less than you think. There is no guaranteed minimum.

"Wouldnt it be better to sell all holdings now and buy at the cheaper price of 3 or 3.2? If of course they drop that far which is likely to happen imo."
In most instance, after a CR, the SP price usually does drop down to the CR price, again no guarantee - do so at your own risk.

However, there is something else which needs to be considered (depending on your strategy of course, ask your self the following).
How much money will actually save/make if you sell now and buy in again when/if its lower?
Is it worth (depending on your trading strategy and if you do/dont participate in the CR) to not have your money go to SYA?

I.e, I would rather participate in the CR, knowing my money will go to SYA - which will help SYA (hopefully) achieve result, and a higher share price, than attempt to buy again on market (even if the SP is lower). In some instances I have seen the SP fall below the CR price, before the closing date, and have still participated in the CR, rather than buy cheaper on market.

This is a perspective some traders miss in relation to a CR. Its there to help the company your are invested in. Its one of the few things you can actually influence (the remaining cash balance at end of quarter)
