Good on you for asking in such a polite manner and trying to do your research first ... FYI share consolidation eg
let’s say you have 10,000 shares at 10c = $1000 worth of shares
the company doesn’t like have xxxmil (or bil) of shares on issue at such a low price (various reasos for another day) so they decide to do a share consolidation and you end up with;
1,000 shares at $1 = $1000 (same money different amount of shares)
