A reasonable argument could be made that with the issue of these performance shares that a level of knowledge by the board of the path forward was known. How does a board tread this tightrope, offering themselves free shares with performance targets that they very well know are able to be met , at whatever cost to shareholder value.
Granted, most of us are in a lot better position than before these incentives were announced but for anyone new on board I can see the frustration and mistrust. It is always easier to keep an existing customer/shareholder than try and win new ones when trust has been eroded. News vacuums don’t help.
