Her's is a succinct commentary on Aus being a Social Democracy:
"At the risk of getting into a definitional battle…I would say, yes it is..( Australia is a Social Democracy)Australia is a democracy, no doubt…
And Australia has significant Social programmes such as childcare, aged care, education, health care, housing and transport.
It has provided services such as electricity, water , sewage and telecommunications through Government commissions and cost aggregation.
The excesses of capitalism are curbed through fairly strong regulation….
So yes, Australia could quite easily be described as a Social Democracy…depends on which definition you care to use."
