Ya post............ https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/51769482/single
I'll list it for the sake of simplicity,
1) They'll drill to TD after 9" casing is cemented & BOP is pressure tested
2) Then run another set of Wireline logs over the lower zones to work out the net/gross gas pay.
3) Once that's done they'll run 5" liner to protect the well. That marks end of drilling & logging.
At this point an Operator could get a smaller rig to do the testing/completion work (as seen at Dempsey where the drillrig was swapped for a smaller Testing/Completions rig).
After a test interval is selected, they'll run in with a Perforation gun/tool to test the zone/s of interest from the lowest to the highest section, if multiple sands are to b tested. If the lower zones r water wet then its an easy decision to test the zone with 28m net gas pay.
----
For testing, basically pick a test interval, for example 3900-3950' etc, perforate it, then do a cleanup, shut the well in, start to record the pressure buildup, then flow the well on a 1/4" choke & record the flowrate & pressure (eg 1.3 mmcfd at 1200 psig etc).
Key risk is the pressure within the sands, given the shallow deposition depth in the channel.
FWIW's, the Loshe 2-14 well that is 1.5 mile or 2.4 kms southwest was tested back over 2 zones in the Kione sands. TD was 4000 feet.
- Upper interval was perforated between 3636-3640 ft, flowed at 1.772mmcfd & 1155 psig
- Lower interval was perforated from 3650 to 3660ft & flowed 1.901 mmcfd at 1240 psig.
Hunt's Borba-1 well is 1 mile north & was drilled back in 1998. TD was 6700 ft.
It had gas shows in the Guinda from around 5750ft to 6350ft on the mudlog.
This formation is expected 125 feet updip (or 200 ft below casing show per the company update, so GLTA for that).
At the end of the day u need Pressure to flow Gas to surface from any Sand over a longer period of time for Commercial sales. That is the bottomline. Hope this helps, mate.
