I sent an email to the Fab four last night. "No reply" was the loud answer.

    Sold this morning. Bye bye.

16 teams x 22 players x 22 rounds = 7744 oraline8 units if the AFL tested each week before the teams went on to the ground. Given that the largest shareholder of SBN is the chairman of the AFL, one would suspect that there is an opening here….and this isn’t the only story that has been in the press.

AFL players returned 12 positive tests to illicit drugs last year, according to figures released by the league today.

And two players failed a second drug test in 2008, bringing to eight the total number of players to have tested positive twice to illicit drugs.

One of those eight players has subsequently retired from AFL football.

AFL players are named and can be subpoenaed for up to 18 games if they test positive three times to illicit drugs during a four-year period.

AFL football operations general manager Adrian Anderson said the league was encouraged by the results, as for the first since the AFL introduced its policy, the number of positive tests had fallen one per cent.

Anderson said while it was disappointing some players had still tested positive, the low number of AFL payers who did so would compare favourably to most work places.

"In 2008 we tested more than ever before, we target-tested players more than ever before and we tested more players post-season than in any previous year and we have again recorded a significant drop in the number of failed tests recorded, Mr Anderson said.

Testers collected 1,220 samples between February 2008 and February 2009, and every player was tested at least once.
