President Biden's $2T infrastructure plan contains $180B dedicated to “R&D and industries of the future.” The federal investment would likely go toward innovations in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and specialized chips for powering AI and other applications, plus other emerging technologies.

• Broken down, $50B is earmarked for the National Science Foundation and $40B toward upgrading research labs, including those with advanced supercomputers and quantum computers.
