Having reread the announcement I am hoping the contract also includes part of the 10 000 m3d centralised component - using MABR ( or possibly SUBRE) to improve the quality and efficiency of centralised plants. This is from Fluence's Chinese social media account:
It also appears as if the China Railway addressable market could be much larger than we have envisaged. China Rail's case use for MABR has so far been viewed through the lens of providing plants for stations on the railway system only. It looks as if the most recent Aspiral Micro Units will be used by China Rail to treat sewage generated by the construction project department (the water being reused for road cleaning, greening and watering).
The two Aspiral units highlighted in the recent announcement could be the pilot test for this case use. Given that China Railway chose Aspiral for its ability to be operated remotely as well as its quick deployment commissioning and superior water quality output, it is not hard to imagine Aspiral could becoming the standard for sewage treatment at mobile construction sites in China with China Railway that require water reuse once the pilots are proved successful. Given the massive yearly scope of China Railway engineering and construction works, and the new 5 year plan focus on water reuse, it could be a highly lucrative market for Fluence. There could be some substantial bulk orders to come from this SOE in the future.
