I think it's more to do with the fact they have had 8 different ministers in 7 years then get Porter knowing he will have to lie low for the next few months/years?
I always thought the media/ABC were supposed to report real stories as they develop. What about this story isn't true? That a front bench minister was named in an alleged rape? Christian Porter being the minister that had to reveal himself because the rest of the front bench were getting worried people might think it was them? He is in the public domain as a minister so even if they named him directly it should have been OK as it is the truth (the alleged rape allegation against him that is).
