    Seeing as this thread is actually about charts, I have a general question for the chartists please.

    What gets you into a stock in the first place?

    Do you scan through charts and find one you like the look of, then do your FA research and decide to take a position?

    Or does a company attract you more because of FA, which then drives you to investigate the chart and decide if/when to take a position?

    Or... is it something completely different?

    Just curious how the dark art works.
