As a former PR man, I can only marvel at Strike's communications. Make no mistake, the company's comms strategy and execution is playing a huge part in its success.

Note: Comms strategies only work when they are grounded in reality. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig: This mob is putting lipstick on a supermodel.

News flow is essential for any speccie. No news equals steady share price decline on low volume - it's a shorters' paradise. Yes, Strike is blessed with news given it is drilling whilst also planning future developments, but it has ensured this news is fed out with a steady and well-paced delivery that has simultaneously denied shorters oxygen whilst building FOMO amongst potential investors. This week's quantum shift in share price has been built not only on the drill results - which seem good but so far lack detail - but on tension built by a steady diet of 10 news announcements in the past five weeks.

Cynics might say, 'but good news is easy to sell'. Yes it is, but what about the bad news? The test for any PR strategy is how it deals with bad news. We've had two doozies - the death of Jaws and the drilling shambles (compounded by unforeseen pressure) at WE3. Either could have proven debilitating. Instead, both were clearly and honestly explained. The market shrugged and the caravan moved on. Textbook.

Never mind the asset portfolio we're building, we are also building credibility, and that's the hardest thing any business can build. Strike has now reached a point where the market is accepting that what it says is factual. That buys a bit of forgiveness if (when?) something goes wrong. It is a sign a stock is crossing the Rubicon that separates Speccie from Investible.
