I'm doing a road trip next month and will do about 2,000km. On maps I can only find one Tesla charging station on my route and that's about 150 km into the journey, so I'd be up the creek. Also I'm hiring a hybrid because I'm in the market for a new car and thought I'd do my own road test before making a decision.
One other point about EV's is that eastern Australia, on current information, is going to have something of a shortage of electricity supply in the not too distant future. That is going to make things interesting and not just for EV owners.
