NEV sales coming out of China for Q1, some 515k units, including stellar March sales of 226k units. If this momentum is maintained through 2021 Calendar year, we could see sales of around 4.5 mill, some 288kt of battery quality chems for EV's alone. Add in all other battery applications, battery quality chem demand could exceed 300kt this year, up from 245kt in 2020, or just over 22% demand growth.
As per BMI, battery demand is growing at 22%, while lithium chem production is growing at 11%.
