Thats just a smokescreen from the govt that promised early safe vaccines of variety but failed to deliver. Early roll out was what the govt actually wanted to do but the vaccines they claimed they had secured did not materialise.
The Opposition leader is just reflecting common sense that once vaccines have been declared as safe and that includes all testing requirements there should be no delay in rolling out the program. We were at the front of the queue according to Morrison and Hunt, but somehow we have been squeezed towards the back of the queue.
Billions of dollars were supposed to have been committed and Astra Zeneca produced in Australia by CSL was supposed to be used except now they are giving limited available supplies to grannies while Astra Zeneca is no longer recommended for the younger majority of the population due to safety concerns and have to wait for Pfizer which currently is not sufficiently available in the numbers needed.
Phil Coorey of the Australian Financial Review called it a political debacle, well I certainly agree its a debacle inflicted on the Australian people.
