That maybe so but I have had personal experience twice with microcaps where the largest shareholder gave such assurance only to not deliver.
In one of those instances my colleague was sitting on the board and they last minute failed to raise support and were required to place the business into administration as to not face potential damages under personal director responsibility.
That largest shareholder was then as largest creditor first in line to pick up all the assets of the business. Dog move but some would say smart business.
