GMG vs IIF
Both own quality portfolios ( although ING Canadian portfolio is questionable)
GMG peaked at $7.60 in Dec 06
IIF peaked at $2.85 in Oct 07
IIF has higher gearing than GMG, and all assets are on IIF balance sheet .
In additional to on balance sheet assets like IIF , GMG also manages in excess of $10b of assets in wholesale funds.
GMG is a more valuable business, like for like. Strip out the current credit induced global meltdown, GMG should be 3 times IIF price.
